After A YEAR LONG wait, Ed finally arrived in Louisiana on October 15th. I decided that the boys and I should fly down to Louisiana to greet Ed. Of course, I couldn't do it myself. So...my mother-in-law flew in from Wisconsin to help me with the boys -- Hooray! Also, we were lucky enough to have Ed's sister, Cherie, join us because she had business in Texas and hopped a short flight over to Louisiana for a couple of days.

Of course, because of the way that the military works, we weren't able to be there for the official welcome home ceremony (they had it at 3AM on the 15th, which isn't the best time to have it when you have two small children). So...Ed met us at the airport, which was great.
I must say that Colt did pretty well with Ed even though he's so young and wasn't used to having Ed around. Unfortunately, Colt has serious stranger danger and doesn't allow a lot of people to hold him except for me.

Fortunately, Ed had two days off after his return and for the remainder of the week, he only had to work half-days. It was great being able to spend a lot of time with Ed and the boys were able to re-connect with him. I must say one could definitely tell that Tate missed Ed A LOT and loved having him around again.

During our week in Louisiana, we stayed in a cabin, which the boys loved.
They loved creating mischief and running around on the deck.
Our week with Ed was awesome! Now we are spending the month of November with Ed. I can't wait until he's back home permanently and in the Old Guard.
