The Fourth with the Family

During the extended July 4th weekend, we had a visitor. Ed's mom/Mutti came for a short visit. Tate loves visitors. Anyone who will shower extra attention on him is more than welcome to visit our home.

Of course we had to extend Tate's birthday one more day so that he could open up his gifts from Mutti. He loves all of his toys!

We even went on a short walk with his walker, which he received for his birthday.

He did a wonderful job and didn't fall once!

For the Fourth of July, we went to a parade in Leesburg, Virginia. It was so nice! It only lasted an hour, which was perfect. Other parades in the DC area lasted well over an hour and some of them lasted for two. I don't see how small children would be able to sit through such a long parade. So...back to our fantastic parade...We were able to park close to the parade and get a front row seat without any obstructions whatsoever.

Also, during Mutti's trip, we walked around the Capitol. The day was very nice and cool for a July afternoon in DC.

Then we went to the U.S. Botanical Gardens. They were still beautiful and Tate still enjoyed looking at everything.

On one of Mutti's final days, we visited Tate's future alma mater -- haha! Just kidding! But we really went to U.Va. The campus is always nice to visit.

Here are some extra pictures that were taken during Mutti's visit.

Tate's weird obsession with the dishwasher.

Where has the time gone. He's a year already. I can't believe it! When's the next one (I got pregnant on/around Liv's 1st b-day)??

He's starting to look like such a little man (toddler)!
