For his birthday, I decided to make strawberry cupcakes with a little Thomas the Train Engine decoration on top. I tried to get him to decide what kind of cake he wanted, but he had ADD for cakes. First it was a train, then a car, then a truck, then a train, then a....I could go on forever! So...I made cupcakes. I thought that would be the best decision so that everyone could have their own cake. Besides...Tate rarely gets sweet treats; so anything would ultimately be fine with him.
Here is Tate getting excited about all of the presents.
To blow out the candles, he would blow through his teeth. It took a while, but he finally blew out the three little candles. When he finally blew out all of the candles, he actually started to blow harder. Go figure!

The boys playing with the parking garage. The parking garage was a nice gift. It's large enough that both boys can play on it without bumping into each other.
Also, during Tate's special day, his dad was able to call to wish him a happy birthday. Ed even sent him a gift earlier in the week -- the gray polo shirt Tate wore for the day. Tate looked so cute in his shirt. I loved it!
All in all, the day was pretty successful. Tate was so tired that he took a 2.5 hour nap! The next day, Ed's mom came for a visit. AND, Tate celebrated his birthday again. One day, he's not going to understand why all kids don't have two birthdays in one year.
