Berry Picking

On Saturday, July 21, Ed and I decided to head out of town and into the country for some berry picking.

We have found a wonderful farm in Tynesboro, Massachusetts called Parlee Farms where we went strawberry picking, but now it's blueberry and raspberry season. The berries are wonderful! Much better than the ones that you buy at the store. They're so plump and juicy! YUMMY!

Picking was a lot of fun even though some woman who had no concept of space or maybe she had the "herd" mentality, tried to pick berries beside me. Of course, Ed being sensitive to space issues, asked her to move on to the other 100/200 yards of unoccupied berry bushes.

The farm even has a little petting zoo filled with goats, chickens, rabbits, and sheep. The goats are definitely the focal point of the zoo -- the kids love to feed them and the goats are happy to oblige.

All-in-all, I'd say that a fun time was had by all!

Good for Ed. I wouldn't have had the guts to ask her to move.

I used to HATE going berry picking as a kid. Blueberries weren't bad, but we had wild blackberries all over the place near our house.Tons of sticker bushes, so we had to wear long sleeves and pants in the miserable heat. Yummy blackberry jam, though.

Sounds like fun now, though.
