An Expensive Day

On Tuesday, March 18th, Ed and I closed on our house in Northern Virginia. We had to fly down from Boston, do our final walk-through with the housing people and close with finance. The house looks great even though there are a few more things that they have to correct (i.e. a scratch on the floor in the bathroom, etc.). My favorite part by far is the kitchen. I have tons of cabinet and granite countertop space (something that I’m currently lacking in our apartment in Boston). We also have tons of windows, which should allow a lot of light into the house, which I really enjoy.

And yes, we had to fly back to Boston on the same day that we finalized our housing. But not only did we close on our house, Ed also found time to buy a car (he sold his truck when we moved to the Boston area last fall). It was kind of funny – Ed walked into the car dealership; told them the exact car he wanted; and we were out of there within 2 hours. It was probably the easiest sale ever. He ended up getting a Subaru Outback XT.

We dropped the car off at our new house in just enough time to catch our flight back to Boston and get ready for our next trip…

That was a VERY expensive day. The kitchen looks awesome. I've never had enough counter and cabinet space. Enjoy it.
