These past couple of weeks have been weeks of many firsts for Tate. This post is about his first real meal. Because he is 6 months old, Ed and I have decided to start him eating one real (non-100% breast milk) meal a day. Today was his first. He had rice cereal with breast milk (of course) and sweet potatoes. After reading all of the material concerning baby's first meal and talking to the doctor, I didn't think that Tate would take to his first meal. Fortunately, he did remarkably well and seemed to like everything that we fed him. Of course about a third of the meal ended up on his face, hands, and bib, but he really seemed to enjoy it.
Here are some pictures of his fulfilling meal...
At first he was more enamoured with the other spoon we gave him (books say to give him an additional spoon to play with so that he isn't constantly trying to grab the actual feeding spoon) and the links.

But he pretty soon got the hang of it and enjoyed eating.
In the end, I gave Tate the actual feeding spoon and he tried to lick it clean.

The final picture of Tate, only cleaner!

Six months already! Wow. Time files.
He's so handsome!
Sounds like he really enjoyed eating. I wasn't looking forward to feeding Ashlyn, but once I started, I thought it was fun.
I love the photo on your header. So cute.
