A Boys’ Day Out

Yesterday, Ed had the day off. Because he had the day off, he decided that he and Tate should have a boys’ day out. I was more than relieved to hear this because the two days prior had been two very, very long days with Tate. I had most of the morning and afternoon to myself. There’s nothing like a quiet house and no one to feed (except for myself, of course).

To everyone’s amazement, I’m sure they will not guess where Ed and Tate went…

Yes, that’s right…another battlefield. I’m sure that by the time Tate is two, he’ll be well versed on all of the battles in Virginia and the surrounding states. Ed loves to walk around battlefields to see where things occurred. For me, they’re just pastures that have a few strategically placed cannons. As you can tell, Tate was enthused about the battlefield as well.

Lately, Ed has been trying to talk me into getting a cannon for “our” collection (I use the term “our” very loosely). He has even looked up the weight of various cannons to ensure that we do not exceed our weight when we move from Virginia. I do let dream about the cannon, but dreaming is all he will do until we settle down permanently (wherever that may be).

I’ll leave you with a short video. Lately, Tate loves it when I dangle my hair in his face. He smiles, makes noises, and tries to catch my hair in his mouth. I think that it’s cute, but I may be a little bias…

Oh, I would be thinking, "yeah, now he can go to battlefields with Tate, instead of me!"
