Tate's Two Month Check-up

Wednesday, Tate had his two month check-up with his new doctor. Prior, Tate was visiting a doctor on Fort Belvoir. Ed and I weren’t too impressed by the doctor and I didn’t like driving the 45 minutes to an hour to the doctor for Tate. So, we applied for an exception from Tricare. Now, Tate is seeing a doctor who is only fifteen minutes away – HOORAY!

Tate’s Stats are as follows:

Weight: 12 lbs. (55%, which I still don’t understand. According to the dosage guidelines for Tylenol, he should be 4 months old when he’s 12 lbs.)
Height: 23 ¾ Inches (80% -- Ed is very happy about this. There is still hope for Tate being tall.)
Head: 39 ½ centimeters

After referencing Tate’s prior appointment and birthing record, the doctor thinks that he’s progressing. Unfortunately, during this appointment, he also had to get his shots. They gave him five shots and one mouth vaccination. I couldn’t believe that they gave him five shots, but he took it like a trooper only crying for about a minute between sets (he had two sets of shots – three in one leg and two in the other). The mouth vaccination was easy – he gulped it down (There are those Matthaidess genes again – Ed is a speedy eater). I was very proud. The days after the shots have been a little more trying. He was a little fussy and had a temperature on Thursday. On Friday, he didn’t have a temperature, but he was still a little fussy. Fortunately, he slept most of the day.

I’ll leave you with a picture of his battle scars…

YUCK! I hate shot days! Sydney's two month is coming up as well, so I'm dreading all those bandaids! It seems like such a mean thing to do to little babies, doesn't it?! He looks like a very sweet baby, what fun the first baby is! Enjoy!

Take good care.
